## Description

Soy wax is derived from seeds and is **perfect for creating handmade candles and natural cosmetics**. It is a sustainable, natural, and eco-friendly raw material. When melted, it does not emit any toxic compounds or gases, unlike traditional paraffin or industrial candles.

Easily mix soy wax after heating it to just 50 degrees. You can then add your favorite essential oils and/or fragrances without destroying their molecules and properties.

### How to Make a Handmade Soy Candle Step by Step

1.- Pour the soy wax directly from the bag into a pot. Remember that its melting point is very low, around 50ºC, and it will quickly turn liquid, almost like a vegetable oil.

2.- Fill your chosen container with the liquid soy wax. We recommend [this 100ml amber glass container](https://www.essenciales.com/envases-accesorios/frasco-crema-vidrio-ambar-100-ml.html), which allows you to make 2 or 3 candles in one go.

3.- Now, choose the scent and/or function of the candle by adding essential oils or fragrances. It’s difficult to give an exact number of drops or amount, as it depends on the type of oil and personal preferences. However, a 2% blend—about 2ml per 100ml of melted soy wax—should suffice to give your candle an amazing fragrance. We particularly recommend essential oils like Citronella (to repel mosquitoes), Lavender (for relaxation), Peppermint (to stay alert), Eucalyptus (as a decongestant), or Cineol Rosemary for its respiratory benefits. Alternatively, you can get creative with food-grade fragrances like red berries, coffee, strawberry, or cookie scents.

4.- Add your preferred wick, from chopsticks to pure cotton wicks.

5.- Decorate the candle's surface with dried flowers, such as [dried rose petals](https://www.essenciales.com/cosmetica-natural/petalos-rosa-secos.html), or [chakra energy stones](https://www.essenciales.com/piedras-minerales/). This will add a personal touch beyond the chosen scent.

6.- Wait for the wax to cool and solidify. This process usually takes between 1 and 2 hours, depending on the external temperature—but you can always speed it up by placing it in the fridge. ;)

Enjoy the fragrance and unique properties of the handmade soy candle you’ve just created!

It is an indispensable product in my SPA, I make natural candles. In addition to being better for the environment, better for the home, and better for the people around them with fewer toxins and 90% less soot in the air compared to paraffin wax (derived from petroleum).
