"Although very similar to lavender, Lavandin Super essential oil is well suited for more specific use as a relaxant and muscle recoverer, especially for athletes or in rehabilitation situations after injuries. One of the most notable characteristics is that it acts beyond muscles and joints and also has that calming nervous effect, which helps us when we have physical overexertion for any reason."
Botanical Description
Lavandin Super is a perennial shrub with a tall, strong, and vigorous floral stem that grows in southern France. It is a cross between true lavender and spike lavender. The flowers are usually purple, although a variety with white flowers exists. It is taller than lavender and has stronger stems and longer flower spikes. It produces a large amount of essential oil, although its scent is very different from that of lavender: while lavender’s scent is soft, sweet, and floral, lavandin’s is penetrating, pungent, medicinal, fresh, and comforting, with sweeter notes when it evaporates, and its effects are stimulating and energizing.
Precautions
It is non-toxic, non-irritating, and does not cause sensitization, making it suitable for all skin types. However, epileptic individuals should not use it, as its high camphor content could trigger seizures.
In summary, Lavandin Super essential oil is a natural extract from hybrid plants of Lavandula angustifolia and Lavandula latifolia. Its aromatic and medicinal properties are similar to those of lavender essential oil, but with faster, sharper, and more intense effects.
