Natural hydrosols and floral waters

Hydrosols, also called floral waters, are the aromatic water produced during the steam distillation of aromatic plants. They contain a small share of the plant's aromatic compounds, which makes them the gentlest form of aromatherapy, well tolerated even by sensitive skin.

What hydrosols are used for

• Facial toner, after cleansing, to refresh and prepare the skin.
• After sun, shaving or waxing, to soothe the feeling of heat.
• Hair care, sprayed on the scalp after washing.
• Homemade cosmetics, as the water phase of creams, lotions and clay masks.
• Room or pillow mist, to gently scent a room.

Which hydrosol to choose

• Rose, for dry or mature skin, with its enveloping scent.
• Lavender, to soothe the skin after sun or minor irritation.
• Orange blossom, to bring radiance back to dull skin.
• Chamomile, for delicate skin.
• Rosemary, for oily skin and scalp.
• Witch hazel, to minimise the look of pores and shine.

How to store a hydrosol

Once opened, keep your hydrosol in the fridge, away from light, and use it within a few months. A spray bottle limits contact with fingers and air. To complete your routine, combine them with our essential oils and carrier oils.
