Rosewood belongs to the Lauraceae family, similar to Ravintsara. Its full botanical name is Aniba rosaeodora amazonica. The essential oil is derived from the wood through steam distillation, exclusively sourced from the controlled cultivation of this protected species.

Traditionally, rosewood essential oil has been used to assist in the following conditions:

MASSAGE

  • For muscle relaxation and tension relief: Use a blend of 3-4 drops of rosewood essential oil along with 3-4 drops of lavender and 2 drops of Roman chamomile essential oil, mixed with one teaspoon of hemp oil. Massage onto the affected muscles.
  • To stimulate the immune system and boost energy: Apply 3-4 drops of diluted rosewood essential oil in a teaspoon of almond oil on the lower back twice a day.
  • To soothe a cough: Apply 3-4 drops of rosewood essential oil along with 3-4 drops of lavender essential oil diluted in a teaspoon of St. John's wort oil to the chest, neck, and soles of the feet.
